EDA CapitalConnect Ltd, incorporated in April 2008, is a subsidiary of EDA Rural Systems Private Limited (EDA). Established in
1983, EDA is a leading development sector consultancy, research, and capacity building
organisation. Driven by a passion to contribute towards sustainable development,
the team at EDA has successfully developed and delivered solutions that have aided
in the evolution of the microfinance and micro-enterprise sectors over the last 25 years.
EDA’s work has spanned across 15 countries in South Asia, South-East Asia, Central
Asia and the Pacific regions, and has been in association with multi-lateral development
organisations, global not-for-profit institutions, governmental institutions,
and over one hundred social enterprises. |

Understanding the critical need to channel formal banking sector funds into the
microfinance space, in 1998 EDA promoted one of the first specialised
microfinance credit rating institutions, Micro-Credit Ratings International Ltd (M-CRIL). Having
assessed over 250 entities in 25 countries stretching from Russia to the Philippines,
M-CRIL is the world leader in the rating of microfinance institutions.
